About Me
My Background
I am Diane-Blair Goodpasture, but my art name is Artemisia Dioni, after my Greek counterpart and the great Artemisia Gentileschi. Dioni is based on a mispronunciation of Diane. I am self-taught. Having a creative outlet has always been my refuge, a kind of therapy for me.
My Media
My favorite medium is stained glass. My other media include acrylic painting, polymer clay, and designing needlepoint, handmade/handsewn dolls, stuffed animals, bags. and pillows.
My Inspirations
Some of my biggest inspirations have been: my education, life events (good and bad), Biblical women, mythology, and antiquity. I also like making celebrities out of stained glass. Tiffany, Picasso, Chagall, and Artemisia Gentileschi are a few of my favorite artists.
