I saw a really beautiful photo of Renée Fleming on an album cover. I decided to make it into a needlepoint. The only problem was I couldn't find yarn in a decent blonde skin tone. I ended up making her brunette.
This is my version of a qipao dress. I bought the flowers, but I designed and hand sewed the dress.
She and her dress and shoes are my unique design. They are entirely hand sewn. I will come up with a better photo soon!

I made the buttons out of Fimo clay. They read from left to right: dragon, tiger, snake, brave, and endure
The patch on the left is kanji for ninjitsu. On the right is the kung fu red dragon.
I messed up his ear for the second time. I wish I had gone back and redone it!

This gorgeous geisha is someone else's unique creation. She is one of my inspirations. I'm confident that when I begin needlepointing her she will take on a life of her own. I mean is anything really 100% original?
